eliyas dukamo is one half of elto coffee, a passion project co-founded with his partner atiklit dejene in sidama bensa, ethiopia. their goal is to sustainably increase returns to the smallholder farmers who depend on coffee as the primary income source by elevating and diversifying cup profiles of common ethiopian coffee varieties.
to achieve it, they share farm-level know-how on practices that influence coffee quality. they also get involved in post-harvest processing to reveal and enhance the coffees' most unique and desirable attributes.
